AI Contract Overview
This contract covers the procurement of blood transfusion units under the designation "BLOOD TRANSFUSION K," intended for medical use within the Department of Defense supply chain. The contract specifies that packaging and packing must follow commercial standards as outlined in the procurement documents, with each complete unit securely sealed in a container that protects against damage or breakage. Units must be packed in commercial exterior shipping containers suitable for export when necessary, ensuring safe delivery by common or other carriers at the lowest possible rate to the designated delivery point. All materials are required to be marked in accordance with the Medical Marking Standard No. 1, which supersedes previous MIL-STD-129 requirements. The acquisition mandates compliance with technical and quality requirements from the DLA Master List and adherence to FDA regulations for medical devices, including class II regulatory standards and associated marketing requirements such as registration, labeling, and good manufacturing practices. The shelf life for the blood transfusion units is specified as 18 months with no extension allowed. Delivery terms include FOB destination, with inspection and acceptance points at the destination, requiring shipment within 20 days of order. The contract quantity is two units, with pricing determined per each unit. Special instructions for packaging, palletization, and shipment modes, including avoidance of parcel post and use of fastest traceable means, are detailed, ensuring proper handling and timely delivery to the specified military vessel address.
