Sources Sought: Solicitation Number: AG-9A40-S-13-0030 Name of Project: Bluff Mesa Hazardous Fuel Reduction, San Bernardino National Forest NAICS Code: 115310 Support Activities Forestry DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The purpose of the Bluff Mesa Hazardous Fuel Reduction project is to reduce forest fuels and attain both horizontal and vertical fuel separation in forested stands within the treatment units using various techniques of fuel reduction, green tree thinning, and limited biomass removal from the units. This work will include, but not limited to, all labor, management, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, incidental engineering and transportation necessary to perform the work and will include, cutting, piling and removal of; standing and downed trees, dead and live brush, limbs and designated live conifers, existing slash and forest debris resulting from prior operations and or events. Potential equipment that will be required to accomplish the Bluff Mesa Hazardous Fuel Reduction work requirements include but are not limited to: rubber tired skidder with grapples and "bull line", mobile chipper, "small" mobile cable yarder or helicopter, masticator chainsaws, and directional felling equipment. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to survey contractors who are registered as a Small Business in the CCR and ORCA to ascertain whether there is sufficient interest among those classified to submit proposals for the project. The solicitation will be issued about the second week of August 2013. Interested Small Business contractors who are able to manage a project of this size should send an e-mail to contact@example.gov expressing their interest.
