AI Contract Overview
The contract specifies the procurement of three glass bottles, each with a 33 cc capacity, designed for dropping and equipped with a screw cap, labeled as “TYPE 134 FREON.” These bottles are classified as critical items for weapon systems and are not regulated by the FDA. Each unit must have a non-extendable shelf life of 12 months, with at least nine months remaining at the time of shipment. The product must be packaged in sealed unit containers that prevent damage or breakage and shipped in commercial exterior containers suitable for safe delivery via common carriers at the lowest cost to the destination in Suffolk, Virginia. Packaging must comply with Medical Marking Standard No. 1, superseding MIL-STD-129, and all labeling and marking must adhere strictly to this standard. Hazardous material transport requirements under Fed-Std-313 do not apply, so commercial packaging per ASTM D3951 is acceptable, though DLA’s technical and quality requirements take precedence. Mercury or mercury-containing compounds are prohibited in direct contact with the item, except for functional uses in approved instruments as specified by NAVSEA. The item’s manufacturer is Bacharach Inc with part number 3015-0864 and CAGE code 05083, and identical part numbers are listed under other suppliers. Delivery is required within five days of contract award, FOB destination, with no quantity variance allowed. The shipment must be sent by the fastest traceable means, explicitly excluding parcel post. The contract is associated with the solicitation SPE2DS-26-T-049D, issued by the Department of Defense’s Medical Supply Chain division, with response deadlines and delivery timelines firmly set.
