Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract to Brainlab, Inc. for preventive maintenance on two government-owned Brainlab Curve Navigational systems and their components. This requirement, categorized under NAICS code 811219, covers equipment used at the main medical center and its subsidiary locations across Southern California. The government has identified Brainlab, Inc. as the only viable source due to the proprietary nature of the hardware and software, as well as the necessity for original equipment manufacturer parts to ensure maximum functionality. While this is a notice of intent to sole source rather than a request for competitive quotes, interested parties may submit a capability statement to challenge the determination. Such submissions must include detailed management, technical, and cost data, along with valid certification from Brainlab, Inc. to provide the required services. Capability statements are limited to six pages and must be submitted via email to the designated point of contact by the specified deadline for the government to determine if a competitive procurement is warranted.
