This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for market research. Please reference SSA-RFI-15-0021 when responding to this announcement. Purpose: The Social Security Administration's (SSA) Office of Earnings, Enumeration, and Administrative Systems (OEEAS) is seeking to identify experienced vendors capable of providing an enterprise Commercial-Off-The-Shelve (COTS) Business Intelligence (BI) software toolset for an agency wide deployment to replace the existing BI enterprise software product. The software must have the ability to operate within the existing infrastructure at SSA. Background: OEEAS currently supports an enterprise BI environment representing more than 60 projects across the agency with a user base of more than 5,000 users with an expected growth of approximately 12,000 users. The BI infrastructure is a multi-tier, multi-server architecture in a Windows Server environment. It provides capabilities that include intuitive dashboards, complex report building, and in-depth data analysis or data discovery. Proposed Solution: Vendor responses must include a clear and definitive description of the vendor's product, system architecture, automation capabilities and must clearly state how their product provides the ability to meet the SSA/OEEAS requirements. Vendors must also state any additional requirements needed to successfully operate the system within the SSA's environment. Vendors should respond based on the attached "BI Tools RFI Requirements" document. Categories of requirements include General Information, Product Architecture/Infrastructure, Data Access/Data Management, Security, Section 508, Extendibility, and User Capabilities. See the attached document for detail requirements. Responses: Vendors having the capability to meet the attached requirements are invited to submit complete details of their solution. The responses must clearly state how the solution provides the capability to meet our requirements. Please provide detailed responses to each of the listed requirements and provide any substantiating documentation. We will not consider general marketing information, incomplete responses, capability statements or reference to vendor web sites. Vendors responding should indicate specifically whether the solution, proposed in the submittal, is available for purchase from the manufacturer's, or authorized resellers', GSA schedule, SEWP Contract, other Government-Wide Contract, directly (open market) from the manufacturer or authorized reseller(s) or from any other sources. Pricing data is not required. This is not a request for proposals, or an announcement of a solicitation. No solicitation package exists at this time. In addition, the government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the information received and submittals will not be returned to the sender. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSA/OEEAS's assessment of capable sources. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Electronic responses to this notice should be submitted via email to Madeline.Bryant@ssa.gov no later than January 14, 2015 by 12:00 PM EST. Vendors should submit their response using the attached spreadsheet. Any additional supporting documentation may be attached. Include vendor name, contact information, date of response, and all products mentioned in your response with version numbers and release dates. Please reference SSA-RFI-15-0021 in the subject line. Faxed information will not be considered. The file size limitation for e-mail attachments is 5 megabytes. No phone calls will be accepted.
