Parsons SWPF Project in Aiken, South Carolina is seeking qualified Engineers or Engineering firms to conduct PC-3 dynamic piping stress analyses according to Parsons’ specific desktop instruction for the Salt Waste Processing Facility. These analyses involve ASME B31.3 Normal Service pipe stress evaluations to ensure piping systems impose limited loads on vessels and equipment while controlling stresses and displacements. The work requires professionals experienced in using the Caesar II software for both static and dynamic seismic load analyses, as well as proficiency with SmartPlant 3D for image viewing and Mathcad software for pre- and post-processing calculations. All analyses must adhere to ASME NQA-1 qualified procedures and undergo independent verification and thorough documentation. The responsibilities include performing pipe stress evaluations in line with relevant ASME and ANSI codes, qualifying nozzle loads, and calculating acceptable moment loadings for flanges and pump nozzles per industry standards. Parsons will provide necessary technical data such as piping isometrics, equipment catalog cuts, and response spectra for analysis. Initial calculations must be prepared, checked, and reviewed on-site at Parsons’ Aiken office under Parsons supervision before contractors are authorized to complete work at their own facilities. For further details, interested parties should contact the listed prequalification manager at Parsons.

This is an immediate need for sources to meet the requirements below. Parsons SWPF Project in Aiken, South Carolina is seeking Engineers and/or Engineering firms to perform PC-3 dynamic analyses per Parsons SWPF Desktop Instruction, ?Piping Stress Analysis for Salt Waste Processing Facility (SWPF) with Emphasis on Caesar II Use.? Said analyses are ASME B31.3 Normal Service pipe stress evaluations to ensure that the pipe installed for various purposes in the SWPF imparts limited loads on vessels and equipment along with limiting the displacements and stresses on the pipe. The calculations shall be performed to ASME NQA-1 qualified procedures by individuals meeting the requirements listed below: POSITION OVERVIEW: The Piping Stress Engineer/Analyst is a fully qualified professional in piping / pipe stress analysis experience, proficient in the utilization of piping / pipe stress engineering theories and practices. The Piping Stress Engineer/Analyst shall be proficient in the use of the Caesar II software program, including specific application of static and dynamic analysis for seismic load conditions. Working knowledge in the use of SmartPlant 3D image viewing software is required. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs pipe stress of piping systems in accordance with ASME, ANSI B31.3 code requirements using Caesar II software program. Performs analysis for the qualification of nozzle loads based on the allowable loading data provided in the ?Mechanical Equipment Acceptance Criteria?. Performs calculations to qualify acceptable moment loadings in flanges per ASME Section III NC Provides calculation to qualify acceptable loads on pump nozzles per ANSI/HI 9.6.2 or other documentation pertaining to the specified pump. (eg. API 610). Prepares engineering computations and analyses. Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately. Extracts engineering information from CAD. The evaluations shall be performed using Caesar II computer analysis software that has been verified and validated on the desktop computer that the evaluation is being performed on. An understanding of the piping isometrics and their relation to the equipment and structure is necessary to perform the analyses, therefore a working knowledge in the use of SmartPlant 3D image viewing software will be required. Portions of the pre and post processing will be performed using Mathcad computer software. The calculations shall be independently checked by competent personnel to exacting standards and documented using the methods in the aforementioned desktop instruction. Parsons shall provide piping isometrics, equipment catalog cuts, line lists, current desktop instructions, corrosion allowances, insulation data (as required), response spectra data in a format readable by Caesar II, current document and Mathcad templates, and controlled calculation numbers. The initial calculation being prepared through the checking by the each of the individual contractor?s personnel shall be completed in Parsons Aiken Office under the supervision of Parsons personnel. Parsons personnel will perform a review of the completed and checked calculation providing feedback on it prior to releasing the individuals to prepare calculations at the contractor?s offices.
