AI Contract Overview

This contract involves the complete demolition of Building 3, requiring the contractor to disconnect and cap all utility lines at least two feet underground. A critical component of the project is the comprehensive asbestos abatement of the entire structure, which must be managed by a certified Industrial Hygienist who will prepare necessary documentation and review submittals. To minimize disruption to medical center operations, the contractor must implement strategic construction phasing and perform the actual bulldozing of the building exclusively on weekends. Site safety and restoration are prioritized through the installation of a seven-foot chain-link perimeter fence and the proper disposal or recycling of all debris according to local and state laws. Following demolition, the contractor is responsible for filling voids with topsoil or clean fill dirt to ensure the site is compacted, graded, and free of protrusions. All work must adhere to VA criteria, NFPA 101 Life Safety, and NFPA 99 Health Care Facilities standards, with final as-built drawings due within 30 calendar days of project completion.
