The New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) has received approval from the Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) to exempt a three-year extension of the existing contract with Unisys Corporation (Contract C000623) from the requirement to publish a notice in the New York State Contract Reporter. The extension, covering the period from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2028, is valued at approximately $66.4 million, with provisions for two additional one-year renewal options. This exemption pertains solely to the notice requirement and does not imply prior approval of the contract extension itself. Despite the exemption, ITS is still obligated to publish a notice of letting, which serves as a formal notification rather than a solicitation, as the contract is a single-source award due to Unisys being the sole provider. The contract is designated as a single-source award, justified by the fact that Unisys is the only entity capable of fulfilling the contract requirements for this three-year extension. The contract covers all counties in New York State and falls under the NAICS code 812990. The posting date for this notice was February 13, 2025, with a response deadline of February 21, 2025. The contract's scope and details are accessible through the New York State Contract System, and any inquiries regarding the sole-source exemption or procurement process should be directed to the appropriate contact within the agency.
