The Naval Air Warfare Center - Aircraft Division awarded a sole source Cost Plus Fixed Fee bridge contract to the incumbent General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. (GDIT) at 3211 Jermantown Road, Fairfax, VA 22030 for 1,133,005 (one million one hundred thirty-three thousand and five) hours of support services. This award was necessary for the continuance of contractor support services to the Ship and Air Integrated Warfare (SAIW) Division in the areas of design, development, customization, manufacturing, fabrication, procurement, integration, test and evaluation, installation, certification, maintenance and upgrade, logistic, and life cycle support of new and/or existing shipboard and airborne mission systems. The bridge contract was needed for continuing ongoing support previously done under GDIT Task Order, N00178-04-D-4012-M808 while the follow-on contract is being completed with an estimated award date in October 2017. Due to the ongoing nature of the support services currently being performed under Task Order N00178-04-D-4012-M808 and the need to continue these services with a minimal break in work, GDIT was the only practical source for providing the necessary continuation of these services until award of a competitive follow-on contract.
