The project involves upgrading Intelligent Transportation System infrastructure along I-25 from milepost 93 to 164 and US-24 from milepost 299 to 312 within CDOT Region 2, primarily in El Paso County and other statewide locations. Key tasks include installing fiber optic cable totaling 18,845 linear feet, new electrical conduit including 12,375 linear feet of 2-inch bored conduit and 2,615 linear feet of 4-inch bored conduit, 64 linear feet of 36-inch drilled shafts, 17 linear feet of 42-inch drilled shafts, and 114 linear feet of 48-inch drilled shafts. Work includes removal of obsolete infrastructure such as 14 CCTV poles, six overhead sign structures, 35 pull boxes, 16 traffic signal controller cabinets, and associated electrical equipment. Additional requirements involve 100 hours of potholing and troubleshooting, 200 days of traffic control management, 40 hours of flagging, native seeding over 0.93 acre, erosion logs, and mobilization and construction surveying. The contract requires a 5% guaranty of the total bid amount and has a fixed completion date of December 10, 2027. The estimated contract value falls between one and five million dollars.
