***** This is a REQUEST FOR INTEREST ONLY! This request does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, or invitation for bid. The intent of this request is to identify potential offerors for market research purposes only. ***** Request for Information (RFI) Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS), which manages and operates portions of the Savannah River Site (SRS) under a Department of Energy (DOE) prime contract, seeks information from parties capable of providing a can cutter. The SRS complex is located approximately 15 miles south of Aiken, South Carolina and is 310 contiguous square miles. Scope Summary: Provide labor, materials, services and expertise for design, fabrication, inspection, testing, documentation, delivery, installation support, and technical services for creation of an electric can cutter that will be used inside of a glovebox. The can cutter is used to cut and burnish stainless steel canisters compliant with DOE standard 3013. The 3013 canister assembly consists of the following three cans nested together. 3013 Outer Welded Can (Outermost) 3013 Inner Welded Can Convenience Can (Innermost, contains powdered material) The can cutter will be used to sequentially cut the 3013 outer welded can and the 3013 inner weld can to gain access to the convenience can. Requirements, Operating Conditions, and Considerations (See attachment) A supplier's response to the RFI does not guarantee they will be selected to participate in the RFP.
