The C-CAST Safety Data and Research project will be performed on behalf of Transport Canada. The contractor will perform advanced safety analysis/studies based on operational flight data from Canadian airlines through the contractor's data warehouse and flight data analysis infrastructure, tools, and expertise. With the support of the Canadian Commercial Aviation Safety Team (C-CAST), the contractor will collect, aggregate, de-identify and analyze the operational flight data provided by airlines for Canadian registered aircraft operating under the airline sector of operations (Canadian Aviation Regulations Subpart 705). The project seeks to adopt new approaches (processes, tools, artificial intelligence) to use, analyze and visualize data that will improve the quality, availability, usability, and specificity of safety intelligence for the aviation community. The project includes provision of an online platform for C-CAST as well as the completion of aviation safety studies with identification of potential safety enhancements, research projects, and the production of aviation analytical products and dashboards. There are various deliverables to be provided incrementally over a period of 2 years from July 2024 to July 2026.
