This is a Request For Information (RFI) only. Through an earlier Sources Sought notice for Cancer Genomics Cloud Pilots (FedBizOpps reference number: HHS-NIH-NCI-RDSS-MOSB-2402-80) the National Cancer Institute received a number of examples of the types of scientific analyses that a Cancer Genomics Cloud Pilots project could address. NCI is interested in: - Industry/academia comments on the priority and relevance of these examples in a Cancer Genomics Cloud Pilot project. - Submission of additional examples of the types of scientific analyses that a Cancer Genomics Cloud Pilots project could address - Opinions regarding which data sets respondents believe should be hosted in the pilot clouds in addition to the core The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) sequence, Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP), and clinical data slated by NCI in the current plans. Please visit this link for more information about TCGA data: https://tcga-data.nci.nih.gov/tcga/tcgaDataType.jsp To provide a collaborative and transparent way for the community to comment on these important topics, NCI will use the IdeaScale platform. IdeaScale has been used quite broadly by other government agencies (e.g. FEMA) as well as other divisions of the NCI (e.g. the NCI Alliance for Nanotechnology in Cancer) to gather opinions on priorities on critical topics. Using IdeaScale, responders to this RFI can enter a new "idea" (in this case, a scientific analysis or data set) as well as comment or vote on existing ideas, thereby providing a collaborative environment to openly extend, improve, and even debate priorities. The Cancer Genomics Cloud Pilots IdeaScale site is currently open to receive input. The NCI plans to keep the site open until any potential Broad Agency Announcement is released (currently estimated at the beginning of FY14). Please visit the IdeaScale site at the link: http://ncicloud.ideascale.com/ All requested information must be submitted according to the instructions on the IdeaScale site. No other form of submission is being sought. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a solicitation (Request for Proposal) or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Furthermore, we are not at this time seeking proposals. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the responding party's expense. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked PROPRIETARY will be handled accordingly. The Government shall not be liable for or suffer any consequential damages for any proprietary information not properly identified. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Government regulations. Proprietary information or trade secrets should be clearly identified. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the U.S. Government to form a binding contract or agreement. The National Cancer Institute will not be obligated to pursue any particular acquisition alternative as a result of this RFI. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future solicitation, if one is issued. Confidentiality: No proprietary, classified, confidential, or sensitive information should be included in your response.
