The U.S. Army is conducting a market research initiative, as outlined in a Sources Sought Synopsis, to identify small business firms capable of offering farrier services for the maintenance of horses within the Caisson Platoon at Arlington National Cemetery. This is part of the broader memorial affairs operations aimed at honoring fallen service members. The contract supports the Caisson Platoon in its provision of funeral services and state functions. The contract type anticipated for this requirement is a Firm Fixed Price, with the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code designated as 115210, which correlates to animal production-related services, and carries a size standard cap of $9.5 million. Responses to this Request for Information (RFI) are for planning purposes only and are not considered proposals for a bid. The RFI mandates that respondents submit comprehensive capability statements detailing their ability to meet the outlined service requirements. Notably, responses must include specific company information such as name, address, business size, and contact information, and these must be submitted in writing by 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, December 1, 2024. The contract further underscores the non-obligatory nature of the RFI, clarifying that submitted responses will not be returned or viewed as binding offers. Interested parties are directed to send their submissions to Contract Specialist Tina Hill at her designated army email.
