AI Contract Overview
This contract covers the procurement of intravenous catheters, specifically 14 gauge, 2-inch straight needle catheters, packaged in units of 200 per package. The contract mandates compliance with DLA packaging requirements, ensuring each unit is sealed and protected from damage during shipping. Packaging must meet commercial standards and conform to Medical Marking Standard No. 1 for identification, superseding previous MIL-STD-129 requirements. The product must be shipped in suitable commercial exterior containers to ensure safe delivery to the destination, with delivery expected within 20 days. The shelf life of the catheters is specified as 60 months, with no more than 9 months elapsed between manufacture and delivery, and this shelf life is non-extendable. Additionally, the contract includes specific quality and technical requirements referenced through DLA’s master list. It requires bidders to specify the company and part number of the products supplied and notes that the intravenous catheter is FDA regulated, with a referral required for product specialist confirmation. Only specified manufacturers such as Trillamed LLC and B. Braun Medical Inc. are recognized, with designated part numbers provided. The contract is managed by the Department of Defense’s Medical Supply Chain at Fort Bragg, with designated points of contact for coordination. The terms include strict acceptance and inspection points at the destination, FOB destination delivery, and adherence to defined packaging and military standards to ensure product integrity and traceability.
