AI Contract Overview
The contract calls for the procurement of sterile, straight urethral catheters that are 16 inches long, 20 French size, made from latex red rubber, and suitable for all-purpose use. Each unit consists of a package containing 12 catheters, with a total shelf life of 60 months, of which at least 51 months must remain upon receipt by the government. Packaging must comply with strict DLA commercial standards to protect contents and enable safe shipment, marked according to Medical Marking Standard No. 1, and palletized following DLA requirements. The product is regulated by the FDA, and buyers must coordinate with contracting officials for confirmation prior to acquisition. The solicitation specifies delivery of 9 packages within 20 days to a destination at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, with exact quantities, inspection, and acceptance occurring at the destination. Shipping must be done by the fastest traceable means excluding parcel post, using commercial exterior containers that meet ASTM D3951 standards, though DLA quality and technical requirements take precedence. Compliance with government identification removal policies on non-accepted supplies and quality assurance pursuant to the DLA Master List are mandatory. The contract references Cardinal Health and C.R. Bard Inc as associated manufacturers, with the procurement overseen by the Department of Defense Medical Supply Chain office.
