Catholic Musician Director

The Contractor is required to provide qualified individuals to deliver in-person, on-site music support for Catholic religious services at Malmstrom AFB Chapel, including weekly Sunday Masses, Holy Days of Obligation, weddings, funerals, and other special liturgical events. The total annual service requirement is 420 hours, encompassing performances, rehearsals, recruitment, training, and administrative duties. The Contractor must recruit, organize, and train volunteer musicians, ensure all personnel meet strict qualification criteria—including a high school diploma, being 18 years or older, possessing at least two years of Catholic liturgical music experience, and demonstrating piano proficiency— and must submit references from a Catholic Priest verifying competence in leading Mass music. All personnel must pass mandatory federal background checks, including a National Agency Check with Inquiries and an Installation Records Check, and comply with Force Protection Conditions, Operational Security protocols, and chapel child protection policies. The Contractor must provide two qualified substitutes per position, notify the Contracting Officer’s Representative of absences at least two weeks in advance, and ensure all equipment is properly set up, maintained, and secured before and after each service. Special services include Ash Wednesday, Ascension, Assumption, All Saints, Immaculate Conception, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and other rites as needed. On-site performance is mandatory at Malmstrom AFB Chapel in Montana, with all activities subject to government oversight and acceptance by the Wing Chaplain or designated representative.
