The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in support of the Vaccine Research Center (VRC) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition the purchase of qty.50 CelBooster, Cell Growth Enhancer for adherent cells, qty.50 of CelBooster, Cell Growth Enhancer for suspension cells, and qty. 50 of Adherent Cell Expression Medium from ABI Scientific, 46400 Benedict Dr, Ste 105, Sterling, VA 20164. The CelBooster, Cell Growth Enhancer for adherent cells from ABI Scientific Inc is a new and unique cell culture feed medium formulation which can dramatically enhance protein productivity in plasmid DNA-transfected mammalian cells. The CelBooster increases both protein productivity and cell density without modifying any cell biochemical characteristics and cell biological specificities at the protein production facility. The CelBooster is compatible with any transfection protocol, no optimization is required. CelBooster, Cell Growth Enhancer is a highly concentrated feed medium, to ensure high yield and high quality protein production. Currently ABI Scientific Inc is the only source for this reagent. This is not a request for quote. Offerors who can provide this particular product may submit a statement of capabilities with past performance information. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. A firm fixed price award will be made in accordance with the statutory authority for this sole source requirement 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 only one source available, no substitutions possible.
