The Census Workplace Reservation contract with the Department of Commerce focuses on the continued operation and management of a workspace utilization platform for Census Bureau facilities. The system is designed to map approximately 4,100 staff members to assigned locations at Headquarters and allows employees to reserve meeting and training rooms for collaboration and official business. A critical requirement is the ongoing integration with Outlook Web Access and the use of an interactive facility map to manage reservations and support services. The platform serves as a vital tool for capturing and reporting detailed metrics on tenant patterns and building usage. To optimize costs, the contract has been descoped to include only minimal essential features, resulting in an annual saving of approximately 1.55 million dollars. Without these services, the agency would lack the necessary infrastructure to efficiently manage employee seating assignments and overall workspace utilization.
