Four grinder pumps will be installed at four separate residences. At each residence, 4” schedule 40 PVC or SDR 35 PVC pipe will be tied into the existing service to the houses. The grinder pump will be installed at the end of this line, and then an additional 1 ¼” HDPE DR11 or schedule 80 PVC force main will connect the grinder pump to the existing 2” laterals on the 8” PVC sewer line beneath Center Road. On East Main Street (SR 724), the force main will connect directly to the existing manhole via directional drilling. The construction areas and right of ways are defined in more detail as specified in the Contract Documents and shown on the Contract Drawings. The Union Township Municipal Authority will supply all grinder pumps, pump stations, and control panels (See Appendix “I” for specifications). The Contractor(s) shall furnish all other labor, materials, machinery, apparatus, and tools for the construction of this Project, and materials, equipment or apparatus not specifically mentioned herein or shown on the Drawings, which may be necessary for the proper completion of the entire work or of individual items thereof within the intent of these specifications and drawings, without additional compensation. Contractor to furnish and install all electrical connections to the home’s electrical panel, or supply a sub-panel to service the newly installed pump. The Owner is the Union Township Municipal Authority of Berks County, Pennsylvania.
