Children’s Crisis Residential Care (CCRC)

The Children's Crisis Residential Care (CCRC) project involves the construction and operation of a children's crisis residential program with a capacity of up to 16 beds. Located at 9400 Ruffin Court in San Diego, California, the project will be situated within the existing County of San Diego Polinsky Children's Center. The scope of work is limited to the interior renovation of an approximately 7,600 square foot existing wing, which includes roof replacement, the modification of interior partitions, upgrades to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing fixtures, the installation of furniture and fixtures, and the updating of on-premises signage. The project is funded through BHCIP grant funds under award ID BR1-25-3705 and was approved by the County of San Diego Board of Supervisors on June 3, 2025. It is statutorily exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and must be used for behavioral health treatment for at least 30 years. All contractors and subcontractors are required to pay prevailing wages and utilize a skilled and trained workforce. Upon completion, the facility must be licensed by the appropriate state entity and maintained in a decent, safe, and sanitary condition at the time of occupancy.
