Children’s Crisis Residential Care (CCRC)

The County of San Diego is advancing the Children’s Crisis Residential Care (CCRC) project to construct and operate a 16-bed residential program within the existing Polinsky Children’s Center at 9400 Ruffin Court in San Diego, California. The initiative involves the interior renovation of approximately 7,600 square feet of an existing facility wing, including roof replacement, reconfiguration of interior partitions, and comprehensive upgrades to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Additional work includes the installation of new furniture and fixtures and the updating of on-site signage to meet program needs. The project is designed to expand behavioral health services for children in crisis and is funded through the Behavioral Health Community Infrastructure Program (BHCIP) with grant ID BR1-25-3705. The County must secure a letter of support from a local public entity prior to proceeding. The work is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under statutory and categorical exemptions, contingent upon filing the Notice of Exemption with the County Recorder and meeting all specified conditions.
