Purpose of this amendment is to provide additional questions and answers 1. Question: The drawings for the programmable devices say "SOFTWARE SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM: LOCKHEED MARTIN...". Is the prospective contractor on their own to purchase the data rights/files from Lockheed in order to provide the necessary programmed devices for the assemblies? Does the government already own the data rights to use this information and provide it to a contractor? In lieu of obtaining said programming files from Lockheed, can the government provide sample programmed devices so that the contractor might attempt to reverse engineer the required codes from them? Answer: The government will program the programmable devices. If any of the devices need to be soldered on to the board the vendor will ship them to PHD NSWC first so that they can program them, and then they will ship the programmable devices back to vendor to be soldered on by the vendor. If the programmable devices will be installed on a removable socket they can simply ship the programmable devices separately from the boards. 2. Question: In response to an earlier asked question the government said "Contractor will test for continuity using schematic." But no schematic is provided in the TDPs. How can this work? Is there additional information forthcoming after the contract is let? Answer: The government will be testing the boards for proper operability. ______________________________________________________________ Purpose of this amendment is to provide the correct answer to line item number 3. 3. Question: Is conformal coating to be applied? Answer: No conformal coating will be applied. ______________________________________________________________ Purpose of this amendment is provide additional questions and answers. - 1. Question: How are we going to test whether the circuit card is operational?Answer: Contractor will test for continuity using schematic. - 2. Question: Is the operational testing done by Government? Answer: Yes - 3. Question: Is conformal coating to be applied? Answer: Yes ______________________________________________________________ Purpose of this amendment is to provide an answer to the requested question. Question: Will the government provide the firmware for some of the IC chips? Answer: No, the government does not provide firmware to the vendors. _______________________________________________________________ This is a combined Synopsis/Solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.
