Full Description

The U.S. Department of Education, Office of Federal Student Aid (FSA), has a need for seven (7) licenses and associated maintenance of Citrix XenServer Platinum licenses which supports operations of the Technology Office (TO). XenServer runs FSA's Citrix Web environment to support teleworking and access to ED resources from off site locations. The Citrix XenServer Platinum licenses increases datacenter agility by enabling on-demand provisioning of both physical and virtual servers. For each licensed host, XenServer Platinum Edition provides the ability to, provision unlimited virtual machines on the host, provision an additional three physical servers, and help with disaster recovery and scalability. Without Citrix XenServer Platinum licenses FSA would be unable to operate and access FSA servers and applications in an optimal manner. FSA already owns 5 licenses. It is cost prohibitive and an unnecessary expenditure of taxpayer money to introduce another version of software.
