City of Yreka Fire Hall Project

The City of Yreka is pursuing the construction of a new Fire Hall under Conditional Use Permit No. 2025-01, located on approximately 3.4 acres in Yreka, California. The project consists of a 20,000 square foot facility featuring an 8,500 square foot apparatus bay for up to nine vehicles, 6,000 square feet of firefighter living quarters with decontamination areas, a gym, and private bedrooms, and a 6,000 square foot administrative office including a classroom, conference room, and lobby. Comprehensive site work includes the demolition of the existing facility, surveying, grading, installation of water, sewer, power, and communications systems, as well as paving, hardscapes, landscaping, and irrigation. The project is categorized as an in-fill development and has been determined categorically exempt from CEQA under Section 15332/Class 32, with all environmental impacts deemed less than significant. Compliance is required with the Yreka Municipal Code Chapter 12.40, the State Water Resources Control Board General Permit, and the Federal Clean Water Act, necessitating a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan due to the site size.
