Civil Service Physician/Medical Review Officer

This Request for Proposal (RFP) will contract with a physician or group of physicians to perform the functions of the Civil Service City Physician and/or Medical Review Officer (Physician/MRO) for a four (4) year period commencing January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2031. This RFP is designed to detail the Physician/MRO's functions and to assist in the preparation of the proposal. Please note that this RFP is not intended to secure an exclusive Physician/MRO. The City reserves the right to contract with any number of individual physicians or groups of physicians to fill its Physician/MRO requirements. Furthermore, the City will accept proposals and may award contract(s) in any one or any combination of the following ways: 1. To perform Civil Service City Physician functions only. 2. To perform Certified Medical Review Officer functions only. 3. To perform Civil Service City Physician and Certified Medical Review Officer functions collectively. In accordance with the City's Home Rule Charter, the services sought are considered to be professional services. As such, the City will base its selection upon criteria which shall include, but not be limited to: qualifications of the organization, qualifications of the individuals designated to provide these services, prior experience of the organization and designated individuals, cost effectiveness and the commitment of minority, women and veteran contract participation.
