CLAWA Lake Silverwood Water Treatment Plant Conduit Installation and Pavement Rehabilitation Project

The Project involves rehabilitating (i.e., removing and replacing) approximately 200,000 square-feet (sf) of existing asphalt-paved access roadways, parking areas, and paved areas surrounding tanks and equipment at CLAWA’s active Silverwood Lake WTP. The existing pavement is in poor condition and exhibits alligator cracking, oxidation, deteriorated asphalt binder, and previous utility-trench repairs. Depending on pavement and subgrade conditions, the work may include grinding and asphalt overlay, full-depth pavement reconstruction, localized pavement repairs, utility-trench pavement repairs, and subgrade stabilization. Pavement elevations would remain close to existing conditions. Construction staging will stay within the limits of the WTP on pavement. Construction will be completed in phases to maintain access for facility operations, maintenance and emergency vehicles, deliveries, and equipment servicing. The Project also includes installing two 4-inch-diameter PVC conduits extending approximately 315 linear feet to provide a sleeve for chemical injection tubing between two existing subsurface vaults. The alignment of the conduits is located where there is existing asphalt pavement slated for rehabilitation. Open trenching will be used for installation. Construction staging will stay on pavement within the limits of the WTP. Both elements of the Project would not change the existing capacity of the treatment facility. Beneficiaries of the Project will be the WTP staff and CLAWA employees.
