Eastern Municipal Water District is planning to enhance its telecommunications infrastructure by installing three new communication towers at owned properties across its service area in California. The project aims to address growing demands for reliable, high-capacity connectivity that supports critical operations including data transmission, security systems, and surveillance cameras. Each tower will be either a 40-foot monopole or a 120-foot lattice structure, designed to create a fully redundant network architecture that improves scalability and ensures continuous service even during outages. The initiative is driven by a decade-long increase in reliance on networked systems and is intended to future-proof operations for both staff and ratepayers who depend on uninterrupted communication services. The project is forecasted with a posted date of July 10, 2026, and the primary point of contact is Martha Vilchis, Water Resources Specialist Assistant I, reachable through the provided email and phone number.

Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) utilizes a robust business telecommunication network to provide service for data, devices, cameras, and security systems. EMWD's reliance on network connectivity has increased significantly over the past ten years and the purpose of the proposed project is to improve the system scalability and capacity by utilizing a fully redundant telecommunication network architecture. The proposed project consists of the installation of three communication towers at three different EMWD-owned sites across the service area (Table 1). The tower would either be a 40' monopole or a 120' lattice tower. Beneficiaries of the project are EMWD staff and ratepayers.
