Full Description

The City has multiple planning efforts which anticipate needing engagement services including: Citywide Mobility Plan – anticipated kickoff in early 2027, with the final plan adoption aiming for early 2029. The Comprehensive Plan 5-Year review will finalize scoping through Fall 2026, with public kickoff in early 2027, with an anticipated 12-18-month process. Following the Comprehensive Plan review, the Affordable Housing Plan is anticipated to be updated. The current Affordable Housing Plan was adopted in March 2021. Tasks for updating the design guidelines for City-designated historic districts, historic properties, and entrance corridors are scheduled to be scoped in early 2027. Future update to the Historic Preservation Plan, including development of an implementation strategy. Engagement between simultaneous planning processes should be closely coordinated to minimize engagement fatigue and maximize public participation. Communication should consider coordination between projects. For example, staff and consultants at public events should be prepared to direct public response on topics not relevant to the event premise to the most relevant staff and project, so that department coordination mitigates additional effort on the part of the public to participate in simultaneous planning processes. Due to the iterative nature of multiple planning processes, consultants should expect timelines, project content, and engagement coordination needs to shift as planning progresses.
