COMPREHENSIVE ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE, TESTING, AND REPAIR FOR BALTIMORE PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS

This comprehensive elevator maintenance service contract provides for the repair, adjustment, emergency service, preventive and routine maintenance, testing, and personnel extraction services for elevators, chair lifts, and dumbwaiters at various Maryland Department of General Services locations in Baltimore. Key sites include the William Donald Schaefer Tower, Nancy S. Grasmick Building, and the Public Defenders Building, among others. The contractor is responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, parts, and equipment to ensure 24/7 service and must maintain annual certifications for all equipment in accordance with ASME/OSHA requirements. The contract follows a three-year base period with two one-year renewal options. To be eligible, bidders must have been in business for at least three consecutive years and possess three years of comparable experience within the last five years, substantiated by reference checks. Additionally, the bidder must be a Certified Elevator Technician through the National Association of Elevator Contractors. The contract requires a Minority Business Enterprise goal of 5.00 percent and specific insurance coverages, including a one million dollar combined single limit for general liability. Award is based on the most favorable total bid price. Payments are handled via electronic funds transfer, with a mandatory one percent electronic transaction fee remitted to the State.
