The Granite School District is soliciting bids for perimeter security upgrades at forty-two elementary schools through Invitation for Bids JF27-005-IFB, seeking a single award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, either a General Contractor (B100) or Fencing/Landscape and Recreation Contractor (S330). The project requires installation of chain-link and decorative metal fencing and gates, including powered and unpowered swinging and cantilevered sliding gates, concrete mow strips, demolition of existing perimeter gates to private property, and proper disposal of all construction debris. Bidders must provide unit pricing for the two subject schools—Jim Bridger Elementary and Rolling Meadows Elementary—which will serve as the basis for future quotes on the remaining forty schools, with pricing locked until project completion. The contract has an estimated value of $2,000,000, issued as an open purchase order with that upper limit. Pre-bid attendance on June 18, 2026, at the District’s Salt Lake City offices is mandatory, and bids must be submitted electronically via Bonfire U3P no later than June 25, 2026, including the GSD Bid Form, Bid Bond (if bid exceeds $50,000), and Project Experience List. The award recommendation will be presented to the GSD Board of Education on July 7, 2026, with final approval required before contract execution. The contract is governed by Utah state and applicable local laws, and includes standard clauses on severability, successors and assigns, attorneys’ fees, liability limitations, survival of terms, and indemnification obligating the Contractor to protect GSD from claims arising from its actions or those of subcontractors. All materials and work must conform to manufacturer specifications and GSD design standards, with substitutions requiring written approval from the Designer. Mobilization begins July 13, 2026, with substantial completion required by December 31, 2026; failure to meet this deadline incurs liquidated damages of $500 per calendar day, and late start incurs the same penalty. The Contractor must submit a detailed CPM schedule using GSD-approved software, updated monthly with each pay request, and must recover schedule delays of over seven days within fourteen days with a recovery plan. Payment terms require invoices submitted within thirty days of performance, with payment made within thirty days of a correct invoice; late payments beyond sixty days may accrue interest
