Full Description
This project involves cleaning and sludge removal at the East and West oxidation ditch basins and the influent box at the Borough of Ellwood City Wastewater Treatment Plant. All work is to be completed within Ninety (90) days of the Notice to Proceed.
The contract documents are available electronically via PennBID. This project will be administered by Michael Baker International, 100 Airside Drive, Moon Township, PA 15108. All bids must be submitted through the PennBID portal, no paper bids will be accepted. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond, with original Power of Attorney or Certified Check payable to the Borough of Ellwood City in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid total.
All bids shall be irrevocable for sixty (60) days after the bid opening date. Bidders may modify or withdraw their bids prior to the bid opening time through the PennBID portal.
Bidders are strongly encouraged to request a site visit to review the current site conditions by contacting Andy Petrella, the WWTP Operator, via phone at 724-758-4749, at the wastewater treatment plant located at 1621 Wampum Road, Ellwood City, PA 16117. All other questions regarding this project shall be directed to the Borough Engineer using PennBid.
Bidders must comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulations pertaining to work associated with this project and will be required to submit an executed non-collusion affidavit with the bid. All contractors must also adhere to Act 127 of 2012 (Public Works Employment Verification Act). Pennsylvania Prevailing Wages are not required to be paid on this Contract.
The Borough of Ellwood City reserves the right to waive any defects, errors, omissions, mistakes, informalities, to accept any bid or combination of bids that are deemed to be in the best interest of the Borough, and to reject any or all proposals.
