The Region of Peel is soliciting bids for the conversion of 19 TransHelp buses, specifically 2027 or newer Ford E350 models with 7.3L 8-cylinder engines, to a low-pressure injection dual fuel system utilizing gasoline and propane. The selected vendor must be a Technical Standards and Safety Authority approved Propane Vehicle Conversion Centre and provide staff with TSSA issued Internal Combustion Engine Propane certification. The scope of work includes recommending the best current technology, supplying all necessary equipment and labor, and ensuring the system automatically reverts to gasoline during propane malfunctions. All installations must occur at the vendor's site, with the vendor managing and funding all vehicle transportation. Compliance is mandatory with CSA B149.5:25, CSA B51, and TSSA Propane Code Adoption standards, and components must be certified for operation in temperatures as low as minus forty degrees Celsius. Bidders must provide a documented quality control program approved by a Canadian licensed Professional Engineer. Evaluation factors include past performance, litigation history, pricing realism, and a preference for Canadian or non-U.S. vendors. Electronic submissions are due by October 22, 2026, at 12:00 noon local time in Brampton, Ontario. Payment will be processed via Electronic Funds Transfer following the submission of required banking and company officer documentation.
