British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (BC Hydro) is seeking proposals for Dam Safety Reviews (DSRs) to be conducted by qualified and experienced professional engineers on an as-required basis for its dams located throughout British Columbia. The reviews are expected to be comprehensive, covering all dam aspects such as the reservoir rim, spillway, plunge pool, and water conveyance structures up to turbine inlet valves, though inspections of internal water passages are generally excluded. DSRs done in a given year must typically be completed by March 31 of the following year. The contract will initially cover a four-year term with the possibility of extensions up to a total of eight years. Procurement may involve negotiation and is subject to the Canadian Free Trade Agreement. Suppliers interested in this opportunity must register or re-register on the updated BC Bid platform due to recent changes implemented after May 2022, and ensure compliance with all submission requirements to avoid disqualification. Amendments to the opportunity are now classified as addenda, meaning bidders are not required to resubmit their proposals with each modification. All communications and requests for documents related to this solicitation must be directed via the designated procurement contact email. Responses are to be submitted in English, and suppliers are encouraged to begin the registration process well in advance of the deadline to accommodate potential delays.
