NOTICE OF INTENT Subscription Renewal of Data and Analysis on Crude Petroleum The Bureau of Labor Statistics, Office of Technology and Survey Processing, Systems Administration Branch intends to award a sole source contract to Energy Intelligence Group, 2 Penn Plaza 25th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10121-0101. The statutory authority permitting the acquisition of this requirement by other than full and open competition is 41 USC 254 (1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Background: This data has been purchased in the past three years from Energy Intelligence Group. Each year research is done to see if another company can offer the data at a lesser price, however, so far Energy Intelligence Group has offered best value to the Government. Scope: This data is mission critical and is essential for the data and analysis on crude petroleum markets. Prices within Oil Daily are used within the Producer Price Indexes pharmaceutical indexes in the PPI. Oil Daily provides the PPI with daily detailed data and data analysis that is used for index construction and analysis. This notice of intent is not a request for offers. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government. There is no RFQ notice. For Information Purposes Only.
