The contract involves the sole source award of a purchase order to EMS Ice, Inc. located in Chesapeake, Virginia, for the specialized cryogenic cleaning using patented dry ice technology on eight vent systems aboard the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) at the Naval Operations Base in Norfolk, Virginia. This procurement is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures and is exempt from full and open competition pursuant to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, which allows for non-competitive awards when justified. The anticipated award date is June 16, 2003. This action is not soliciting quotations or proposals from other vendors, and no solicitation documents will be issued or accepted via phone, fax, or email in response to the notice.
