Full Description

The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (Corporation) plans to issue a Request For Quotation (RFQ) for a portable modular curtain wall system that can be utilized to fill an opening approximately 40 feet high x 80 feet wide and an opening approximately 50 feet high x 80 feet wide. It shall be designed and fabricated to be adjustable to the sizes noted above for use in either opening. The openings are located at the downstream ends of Eisenhower and Snell Locks between the upper and lower lock wall levels and are created when a temporary roof system is placed over the lock for winter maintenance work. The curtain wall shall be side-supported only since it is not feasible to provide mid-span supports due to the physical configuration of the lock. The curtain wall system shall be made up of sub-panels or modules that can be connected to each other to form the complete wall and shall meet the New York State Building Code live load requirements for the geographical area. The modules will be set in place utilizing a crane. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded prior to Septemebr 30, 2009 with delivery required by July 31, 2010.
