CUSTOMER FUNDED: ADD 4x C130 ADDITIONAL SPOTS ON VMGR APRON

This customer-funded project managed by Navfac Far East involves the expansion and reconfiguration of the VMGR Apron to accommodate four additional C-130 aircraft spots. The scope of work includes modifying the existing through taxilane to create additional parking capacity and restructuring aircraft movement patterns. Once aircraft enter Taxiway D4, they will be restricted to traveling only north or south via designated peripheral taxilanes. Furthermore, the project requires the conversion of spots 13 through 18 into specialized C-130 spots, which necessitates the installation of specific grounding and mooring points at all four designated locations. In addition to the immediate structural changes to the taxilanes and parking spots, the project aligns with a broader long-term plan to consolidate the area. A subsequent project is scheduled to fill existing grass areas with concrete, effectively merging the various sections into one continuous, large-scale apron. This comprehensive upgrade is designed to enhance the operational capacity and efficiency of the apron for C-130 aircraft operations under the Department of the Navy.
