Cybersecurity Compliance and CDI Safeguarding

The contract requires the implementation and ongoing maintenance of NIST SP 800-171 cybersecurity controls to safeguard covered defense information, ensuring that all systems and processes meet federal standards for protecting sensitive data. This includes establishing technical and administrative safeguards, monitoring for vulnerabilities, and promptly reporting any cybersecurity incidents in accordance with defined protocols. Compliance is mandatory and must be sustained throughout the contract period, with continuous assessment and documentation to demonstrate adherence. The subcontractor must also ensure that any downstream vendors or subcontractors are bound by the same cybersecurity requirements through proper flow-down clauses, extending the obligation to protect covered defense information across the entire supply chain. All activities must be performed in alignment with the Department of Defense’s expectations as administered by the Defense Logistics Agency, with performance expected to meet rigorous standards for data integrity, confidentiality, and incident response preparedness. Failure to maintain compliance may result in contract termination or financial penalties.
