Cybersecurity Compliance and CUI Handling

This contract requires full implementation of DFARS 252.204-7012 requirements to ensure the protection of covered defense information through adherence to NIST SP 800-171 security controls. The scope includes establishing and maintaining a robust cybersecurity framework to safeguard controlled unclassified information, with specific emphasis on implementing technical, administrative, and physical safeguards as outlined in the NIST guidelines. All systems and processes handling such information must be configured to meet the mandatory compliance standards and undergo continuous monitoring to detect and respond to potential threats. The contract also mandates prompt reporting of any cyber incidents affecting covered defense information, requiring immediate notification and cooperation with defense authorities in accordance with federal regulations. Additionally, media preservation protocols must be established to retain all digital evidence and system logs related to covered defense information for a minimum period, ensuring auditability and forensic readiness in the event of an incident. Performance is tied directly to compliance with these cybersecurity obligations, and failure to meet these requirements could result in contractual penalties or termination. The work is performed under a subcontract with the Defense Logistics Agency, operating within the Department of Defense’s broader cybersecurity infrastructure.
