Cybersecurity Compliance and CUI Management

The contract requires the implementation and ongoing maintenance of NIST SP 800-171 compliance standards to protect Controlled Unclassified Information across all systems and environments. This includes establishing and enforcing security controls aligned with the framework, ensuring proper handling, storage, and transmission of CUI, and conducting regular assessments to validate compliance. All personnel involved must be trained on CUI handling procedures and understand their responsibilities under the regulation. The contractor is also obligated to promptly identify, report, and respond to cybersecurity incidents in accordance with DFARS 252.204-7012, including notifying the Department of Defense within 72 hours of discovery and providing detailed forensic data as requested. Supporting infrastructure must be configured to meet the technical and administrative requirements of NIST SP 800-171, covering access control, audit and accountability, configuration management, and system and communication protection. The contractor is expected to maintain documented security plans, incident response procedures, and continuous monitoring capabilities to ensure sustained compliance. Performance is tied to strict adherence to Defense Logistics Agency standards under the Department of Defense, with noncompliance potentially triggering contractual penalties or termination. Work is to be performed in support of defense logistics operations, with all activities subject to oversight and verification by federal authorities.
