Cybersecurity Compliance and CUI Protection (NIST SP 800-171)

The contract requires the implementation and ongoing maintenance of cybersecurity controls as specified in NIST SP 800-171 for all systems handling Controlled Unclassified Information, ensuring compliance with federal standards for protecting sensitive but unclassified data. This includes conducting a Supplier Performance Risk System assessment to evaluate and document the contractor’s cybersecurity posture, as well as ensuring that all subcontractors are aware of and adhere to the same requirements through formal flow-down provisions in subcontracts. The work is governed under a subcontract arrangement with the Defense Logistics Agency, part of the Department of Defense, and focuses on systems supporting national security and defense operations. Compliance is continuous, requiring active monitoring, documentation, and reporting to maintain authorized status for handling CUI throughout the contract lifecycle.
