The contract supports the implementation and ongoing maintenance of NIST SP 800-171 security controls across systems that process, store, or transmit Controlled Unclassified Information, ensuring alignment with federal cybersecurity requirements for protecting sensitive data. This includes establishing technical and administrative safeguards to meet compliance benchmarks, conducting regular assessments to verify control effectiveness, and sustaining continuous monitoring to address evolving threats and regulatory updates. The contractor is responsible for integrating these controls into existing IT environments without disrupting operational integrity while ensuring all configurations remain validated and documented. Additionally, the contract mandates robust cyber incident reporting procedures consistent with NIST guidelines, requiring prompt detection, containment, analysis, and submission of incident reports to designated government authorities within established timeframes. Media preservation protocols are also critical, ensuring that digital evidence and audit trails related to CUI handling are securely archived, retained for required durations, and made available for forensic review or compliance audits.
