Cybersecurity Compliance and CUI Safeguarding (IT/Compliance Support)

The contract mandates the implementation and ongoing maintenance of NIST SP 800-171 security controls to ensure the proper safeguarding of Controlled Unclassified Information in accordance with DFARS 252.204-7012 requirements. This includes establishing, monitoring, and updating technical and administrative measures necessary to protect CUI from unauthorized access, disclosure, or compromise across all applicable systems and environments. The contractor is responsible for sustaining compliance through continuous assessment, documentation, and adjustment of controls to align with evolving threats and regulatory expectations. Additionally, the contract requires immediate cyber incident response procedures and mandatory reporting to the Department of Defense through the DIBNet portal whenever a security breach or suspicious activity involving CUI is detected. The contractor must execute containment, investigation, and remediation steps in accordance with established protocols and submit timely, accurate incident reports to satisfy federal compliance obligations. Failure to meet these requirements could result in contract noncompliance, financial penalties, or loss of eligibility for future DoD work.
