The contract requires the implementation and ongoing maintenance of cybersecurity controls outlined in NIST Special Publication 800-171 to safeguard covered defense information across all applicable systems and environments. This includes establishing, documenting, and enforcing policies and procedures that align with the specified security requirements, ensuring continuous compliance throughout the contract period. All activities must be conducted in accordance with Department of Defense standards, with particular emphasis on protecting sensitive data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or compromise. In addition to proactive security measures, the contract mandates a rapid incident response protocol requiring any cybersecurity incident involving covered defense information to be reported within 72 hours of discovery. The contractor is responsible for detecting, analyzing, containing, and mitigating incidents while simultaneously notifying the appropriate government authorities as specified by DOD directives. Maintenance of accurate records, continuous monitoring of systems, and participation in assessments or audits may be required to verify adherence to NIST SP 800-171 controls and ensure sustained compliance under the terms of this subcontract awarded by the Defense Logistics Agency.
