Cybersecurity Compliance & Incident Reporting

This contract supports cybersecurity compliance for covered defense information systems by ensuring adherence to NIST Special Publication 800-171 requirements, which govern the protection of controlled unclassified information in nonfederal systems. It encompasses ongoing efforts to implement technical and administrative safeguards, conduct regular assessments, and maintain documentation to demonstrate compliance with federal cybersecurity standards. The contractor will be responsible for establishing and sustaining processes that align with the latest NIST guidelines to mitigate risks and protect sensitive defense data. In addition to compliance support, the contract requires immediate cyber incident reporting in accordance with federal mandates, including timely notification and coordination with appropriate defense authorities when breaches or suspicious activities are detected. The contractor must also manage media preservation activities to ensure the secure retention, handling, and disposal of digital and physical media containing covered defense information. These tasks are critical to maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of defense systems and are performed under the oversight of the Defense Logistics Agency, with performance expected to meet the stringent security and reporting expectations of the Department of Defense.
