The Department of Defense, through the Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Fort Campbell, KY, intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract to Motorola Solutions, Inc. for the procurement of an MCC7500 Dispatch Console system. This system includes components such as a voice processing module, desktop speakers, headset jacks, desktop microphones, and a footswitch, and is intended to serve as an alternate Emergency Call Center workstation if the primary site becomes inoperative. The contract will be awarded on a sole source basis due to the proprietary nature of the existing Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Trunked system at Fort Campbell, which is compatible only with Motorola equipment and software. The procurement will follow Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR 13 and is not open for competitive bidding, although other firms may submit a written notification of capability within five days from the notice date. The requirement is classified under NAICS code 334290 with a small business size standard of 750 employees. If no other capable vendors respond, the government will proceed with sole source negotiations with Motorola Solutions, Inc. All responses must be submitted by 1400 CST on June 6, 2014, via email to the designated contracting officer, and telephone inquiries are not accepted. The contract's priority is to ensure seamless integration and continued operation of the existing radio communication infrastructure critical for emergency response at Fort Campbell.
