Full Description

Synopsis The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Technology Acquisition Center (TAC), Eatontown, NJ 07724, intends to procure a one (1) base year with two (2) one year options, Firm-Fixed Price contract, to provide for software maintenance for software developed by Network Executive Software, Inc. (Netex). This effort is intended to be sole source to Netex, 6420 Sycamore Lane N STE 300 Maple Grove, MN 55369-6013, although all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Submissions must be made within 7 days of this announcement. The Government anticipates award on or before February 4, 2011. The solicitation will be issued as a request for quote (RFQ) from the VA TAC, and the number assigned to it will be VA118-11-RQ-0140. The proposed action is to renew Netex software maintenance, new fixes, patches and/or updates for the Netex software residing on the Bull and IBM mainframes. The Hines Benefits Delivery Network (BDN) Payment System is comprised of IBM mainframe and Bull mainframe systems which processes the legacy Veterans Benefits Administration's (VBA) information technology applications supporting the Compensation and Pension, and Education and Vocational Rehabilitation for the nation's veterans and dependents. The software is proprietary to Netex, and only Netex can provide the required maintenance. The following is a summary of the software products that are to be maintained and supported under this action: " Bull GCOS8 Netex/IP Host " IBM z/OS Netex IP Host " Bull GCOS8 BFX " Bull GCOS8 PFX " IBM MVS/ESA PFX-R " IBM MVS/ESA BFX " LO NESiGate Firmware Support All proposal documents and communications shall be made available through the Contract Specialist, Mark Junda, via email at contact@example.gov, or via telephone at +1 (555) 000-0000.
