The Utah Air National Guard plans to award a sole source task order to AT&T for cell phone service under Contract W91RUS-11-A-0007, originally issued at Fort Huachuca for use by all Army organizations. This sole source award follows Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and is justified under FAR 6.302-1, 10 U.S.C. 2304c (b)(2), and related DFARS clauses that allow bypassing competition when only one source is capable of providing the required service. The decision is driven by the need to maintain continuity of wireless service for approximately 140 phones currently in use by the Utah Air National Guard. AT&T is uniquely positioned to renew the existing service plan, minimizing disruptions and ensuring economical and efficient service continuation. The contract will be awarded without a solicitation or request for quote, and responses to the notice must be submitted via email, with no phone inquiries accepted. The period of performance for this task order will not exceed 12 months, and the associated NAICS code is 517210, which pertains to telecommunications services. The decision not to compete the task order remains at the sole discretion of the federal government. Any questions or comments can be directed to the Contract Specialist, Douglas K. Bills, via email. This action supports the strategic requirement to maintain uninterrupted, reliable cell service within the Department of Defense’s telecommunications framework.
