The United States Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) is organizing the FY06 Focused Forum #1 on December 14, 2005, to explore innovative solutions in the area of Visualization Technologies. This event aims to bring together industry professionals, academia, and government agencies to address key capability areas such as terrain visualization—encompassing time-tagged, geo-referenced, and geo-tagged data visualization with comprehensive map overlays—enhanced battlespace visualization for mission rehearsal tools, and improved interfaces for displaying virtual and constructive forces to live forces during joint training exercises. Scheduled at the Chesapeake Conference Center in Virginia, the forum is open to the public without charge, but seating is limited and early registration is encouraged via the USJFCOM website. Following the forum, on January 25, 2006, USJFCOM will offer a demonstration opportunity for participants to showcase potential solutions that address the focus area's needs. Interested parties must submit a brief abstract by January 13, 2006, outlining the capability they wish to demonstrate. Selected presenters will have a half-hour session, including Q&A, evaluated by USJFCOM experts at the Suffolk Complex in Virginia, with additional sessions potentially scheduled if demand exceeds availability. This demonstration phase is intended as an informational exchange rather than a procurement process, and no contractual obligations will arise from participation. USJFCOM plans to continue the series with a second forum focused on Database Integration scheduled for February 16, 2006. Key contacts include CAPT Ray Rodriguez for event details and Vicki A Morris for contract negotiations.
