D -- WITS 3 Subcontracting Networking Session

The GSA National Capital Region’s Federal Acquisition Center and Small Business Utilization Center are hosting a subcontracting networking session on March 11, 2008, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at 301 7th Street SW, Washington, DC. This event is aimed specifically at small telecommunication businesses interested in partnering on the WITS3 Telecommunications contract, which has a total value of $1.8 billion. The WITS3 contract was awarded to Verizon Business Network Services, Inc. and Level 3 Communications, LLC on November 8, 2007. Program managers from both prime contractors will be present to engage with qualified small businesses seeking subcontracting opportunities. Opportunities under this contract include telecommunications carriers, equipment providers, management consulting services, internet service providers, VoIP service providers, and related areas. Interested businesses must register by March 3, 2008, through the GSA website. The event will be held at the NCR Regional Office Building, First Floor Auditorium, and inquiries can be directed to the Small Business Advocate at the Office of Small Business Utilization via phone or email. This session provides a key opportunity for small telecommunication firms to gain insight and establish partnerships under a major federal contract managed by Verizon and Level 3.
